Kuala Lumpur, 6 February 2025: – BAC Renewable Energy Sdn Bhd (BACRE), Dovechem Group (DOVEC), and TLP Terminal Sdn Bhd (TLPT) today have officially signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) to develop the BACRE ASEAN Biofuels (BioLNG & Biomethanol) Storage & Exporting Hub at Tanjung Langsat, Johor. This landmark collaboration will reinforce ASEAN’s leadership in renewable energy and drive Malaysia’s ambitions toward a sustainable, low-carbon future.
The MOA signing ceremony was held at Amari Hotel, Kuala Lumpur with guest of honor being European Delegation To Malaysia Deputy Head/Charge d’Affaires Mr Timo Goosmann and Chairman Of Johor Port Authority, Dr. Hj Rosnan Fathlal.
This agreement between the three parties represents a pivotal moment in the region’s renewable energy transition, cementing its position as a key player in the biofuels sector By leveraging their expertise in biofuels, logistics, and terminal operations, the partners are set to establish a world-class storage and export hub, contributing significantly to global energy security and sustainability.
With increasing global demand for low-carbon alternatives, the BACRE ASEAN Biofuels Hub will play a crucial role in serving both regional and international markets. This initiative aligns with Malaysia’s long-term green energy development goals and commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.

Strategically located at Tanjung Langsat Port, Johor, a well-established maritime hub, the BACRE ASEAN Biofuels Hub will integrate advanced marine logistics solutions to streamline operations. The port offers liquid terminals, bulk and break-bulk terminals, container handling facilities, and state-of-the-art infrastructure to ensure seamless cargo movement for both imports and exports.
Yang Berbahagia Datuk Shahrull Allam Shah Abdul Halim, Executive Director of TLP Terminal Sdn Bhd said, “Our shared vision is to create a state-of-the-art biofuels storage and export facility that will enhance Malaysia’s role in the international renewable energy market. The facility will be designed to accommodate a diverse range of vessels, from small coastal tankers to large ocean-going carriers, ensuring efficient transshipment and delivery of BioLNG and in future to include, Biomethanol, to key markets worldwide. The implementation of cutting-edge monitoring systems, optimized vessel scheduling, and enhanced safety protocols will further improve operational efficiency and reduce turnaround times.
